Kids, Sleep and a Nifty Tool to Help

As my son was transitioning into a twin size bed, my husband and I were worried that he would get out of bed, in which he did too early in the morning. I looked online for any tools or tips to help keep him in bed. This is what I found, Teach Me Time Alarm Clock. My son is only 3 so he doesn't know how to tell time yet but the cool feature with this is that it changes colors.

This clock allows you to program it to turn yellow when it's night time. My sons' bedtime is 8pm so he knows that when it glows yellow it's time for bed. It also is a great night light.

When you program it to sleep you also program the "wake-up" time. My son gets up anywhere from 5:45am - 6:30am. I set his clock for wake up at 6:15 so it now glows green at that time. We have taught him that he cannot get out of bed until it turns green.

He gets so excited that it turns green and proud that he stays in bed until then. There are options to have the clock speak the time, have an alarm go off as well, but that scared him so the colors work best for us. The nice thing is that if my son gets up after 6:15am the light will be green but it is not so intrusive as to wake him up if he feels like sleeping in.

Lastly, this timer will grow with him, as he gets older there are games and extra buttons to aid in his success. For a mom I give this product 5 STARS.

Packing a 2 year old for vacation

My family was going on a cruise to Alaska, and I needed to pack my 2 1/2 yr old son for seven days. Now I adore my in-laws, but they always happen to mistake my son's pj's for pants or shorts. My sister gave me this idea - put outfits in zip lock bags.

I purchased a pack of 3 gallon bags from target for $3.99. I put undies, two outfits based on the weather, and socks. My husband and family thought I was a little crazy, but our entire vacation he matched, and didn't end up in his pj's.
Mission accomplished.

Book Self Idea
Saw this on Pinterest - using rain gutters for kids book shelf. I LOVE IT! Save space and kids can see all their books.

Bed in the closet
This is great, you can close the doors during the day to hide the beds if you want and it gives more room to play.

If you are a family that is on a budget and want amazing family or children photos you MUST to check out Jaimie V Photography. She is amazing, great with my son, capturing his spirit even though he was on the go during the entire photo shoot. Jaimie is very affordable compared to most, she does this on the side to help fund her passion for traveling the world. I encourage anyone to use her if you can, she will forever be our photographer.
